Below is our linked Educational Technology Presentation. Me, Allie, Kari and Jo are all passionate about including outdoor learning in education and the curriculum as we want to connect with our land and improve students mental and physical health. Throughout those course we have learned so much information about power of using technology and how it creates accessibility and interest for students. We wanted to further this idea by including technology and inquire about this relationship in a outdoor classroom setting. In our presentation we looked at the benefits of both outdoor education, technology education and then what combining them together would look like. We also wanted to look at the pros, cons and risks so that teachers can understand what potential outcomes could be when implementing this into a classroom. To make this inquiry presentation valuable to us and to our peers as future educators we included various apps and resources on ways to easily bring these topics into class free of charge. One of the ways we found is valuable to engage with the land through technology is connecting virtually to Indigenous websites or elders so that they can teach us their history and connect us to their knowledge. I am proud of our presentation and reflecting on our journey, I think we have discovered a passion for all of us and that we want to continue researching outdoor technology education so we can bring it into our teaching practices.
